Hydra Chloramine-T is effective at controlling Gyrodactylus salaries and Koi Herpes virus at a 1% solution.
Disinfecting Equipment
Hydra Chloramine-T has been used in ornamental fish and aquaculture industries for many years making it especially useful for disinfecting angling equipment before and after fishing.
Disinfecting of Nets
Every tank, raceway or holding facility on a fish farm or aquatics centre should have its own nets. Nets can be soaked in a 1% solution of Hydra Chloramine T continuously.
Similarly for anglers equipment should be disinfected on arrival and departure from a fishery to prevent the risk of transfer of diseases.
To make 1% solution add 100g of Hydra Chloramine-T to a 10 litre bucket, change solution after 24 hours, As the net is removed from the solution, shake off excess drops before putting into a tank to net fish. For delicate fish it may be preferable to rinse the net in a separate container of fresh water before using it to net fish.
