FEATURES & ADVANTAGES OF HYDRA MARINE DESCALING FLUSH

A multi-purpose engine coolant flush that’s 100% biodegradable and non-toxic even without neutralisation making it safe for both you, your boat and the environment.

Hydra marine coolant flush is non-corrosive and has been designed to clean out your engine cooling system and restore it to its original condition by safely removing years of…

  • Fresh and saltwater scaling/ mineral deposits
  • Limescale build-up
  • Accumalated rust
  • Crustaceans (barnacles, zebra mussels, tiger shells etc.)

…without damaging important engine components such as seals, gaskets and impellers.

With no need for lengthy downtimes or expensive removal of equipment Hydra marine coolant flush saves you valuable time and money. Suitable for use with both inboard motors and outboard motors simply circulate Hydra marine flush throughout your engine cooling system, flush with clean water and then get straight back out on the water the very same day.

Dilutes in 1:4 ratio with water, 5L of descaling concentrate makes up to 25L of finished product making it far better value for money than competitor cooling system flush chemicals (usually 1:1 ratio)

USAGE

Inboard Engine Flush Instructions

  1. To perform an engine cooling system flush remove the boat from the water and isolate the system by closing the seacock valve on the engine, disconnecting both the raw water pump discharge hose and the hose that feeds into the exhaust elbow.
  2. Now the system has been isolated remove the thermostat and all zinc anodes/ plug caps from the system before clamping off the raw water cooling line that runs from the heat exchanger to the main shaft.
  3. At this point you are ready to set up the auxiliary pump. Using hoses connect the circulation bucket to the auxiliary pump suction, the auxiliary pump output to the engines raw water pump discharge, and then finally the engines exhaust elbow back to the circulation bucket. Ensure all fittings are properly secured before moving onto the next step.
  4. Mix one parts Hydra Marine descaling flush with four parts water and fill the circulation bucket, now turn the auxiliary pump on to begin circulating the coolant flush fluid around the engine, being sure to keep the bucket topped up with fluid and check for any air pockets/ leaks.
  5. You should monitor the circulation bucket for any fizzing/ bubbling, this indicates that the fluid is reacting with the scale and can take place for anywhere between 1-4 hours depending on the size of the engine. Once the fizzing stops the reaction has completed.
  6. Switch off the pump and dispose of the coolant flush fluid appropriately, then fill the bucket with clean water and circulate through the engine for five to ten minutes.
  7. At this point the engine has been successfully flushed, now drain and disassemble the circulation system before returning pipes, thermostat, plug caps etc. to their original positions, the engine can now return to service at normal operating temperatures.

Outboard Engine Flush Instructions

  1. 1.To perform an engine cooling system flush first remove the boat from the water and then prep the motor by removing the impeller and thermostat, (making sure to replace their covers) before plugging the tell tale discharge and installing the appropriate earmuffs for your engine.
  2. Now the engine has been prepped you can set up the auxiliary pump system, start by placing a circulation bucket underneath the engines cooling discharge. Now using hoses connect the circulation bucket to the auxiliary pump suction, and the auxiliary pump discharge to the motor earmuffs.
  3. Mix one parts Hydra Marine descaling flush with four parts water and fill the circulation bucket, now turn the auxiliary pump on to begin circulating the coolant flush fluid around the engine, being sure to keep the bucket topped up with fluid and check for any air pockets/ leaks.
  4. You should monitor the circulation bucket for any fizzing/ bubbling, this indicates that the fluid is reacting with the scale and can take place for anywhere between 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the engine. Once the fizzing stops the reaction has completed.
  5. Switch off the pump and dispose of the coolant flush fluid appropriately, then fill the bucket with clean water and circulate through the engine for five to ten minutes.
  6. At this point the engine has been successfully flushed, now drain and disassemble the circulation system before reassembling thermostat, impeller etc. the engine can now return to service at normal operating temperatures.
