Hydra Fluorescent Red Drain Tracing Dye

This is a very effective dye, but be warned that (a) the powder goes everywhere and (b) the dye doesn't fade. I would strongly recommend you wear a dust mask when handling this powder, use it outside and be very careful handling it as even a slight spillage causes red splotches to appear everywhere if/when it gets damp. Also don't use in a pond (as I did) because it doesn't fade (contrary to what this website says) and the pond is permanently dyed red/brown. I completely drained my pond and gave it a thorough clean, but when I refilled the pond it was STILL red brown due to residual dye in the plants and pump - this stuff is very hard to get rid of. Also you probably only need to use 1/4 of the recommended amount to get a good result. There's no Safety Data Sheet available for this product on the website which there should be. This powder probably includes a rhodamine dye, some types of which are considered carcinogenous in some countries (eg Rhodamine B in California), so it would be helpful to have the SDS available - but be cautious and wear a mask just in case when handling it.
